Special Issue 3.34 took as its starting point the 2017 Shadbolt Lecture “The Work of Words,” an onstage dialogue between Dionne Brand, Christina Sharpe, and David Chariandy sponsored by the Writer-in-Residence Program of the Department of English at Simon Fraser University.
