Danielle LaFrance

DANIELLE LAFRANCE lives on occupied and stolen lands cared for by the xwməθkwəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Sə̓lílwətaʔ peoples. She comes from Greek and Dutch ancestry, and is learning where her French Canadian relatives come from. Following the would-be poetics mapped in JUST LIKE I LIKE IT (Talonbooks, 2019), she arrives at reading and writing from a position knowing illusions are destroyed. Her ongoing poetry project #postdildo thinks and acts through fantasy, rape culture, aftermath, modes of communication, and yearnings for carnal nature and all kinds of sustained relations. She authors Friendly + Fire (Talonbooks, 2016) and Species Branding (Capilano University Editions, 2010), with a new chapbook TENTACLE RASA — featuring much freaky animal love — coming soon with Asterion Projects.
