Jim Johnstone Reading at our Issue 3.44 Launch

Jim Johnstone reads “Slice-Selective Excitation (Brain Scans 1-5),” a suite of poems selected by Jordan Abel as the winner of our 2021 Robin Blaser poetry prize and featured in Issue 3.44 (Summer, 2021). Plus “Performance Anxiety” and “Two Sleep Through.”

Jim Johnstone is a Toronto-based poet, editor, and critic. His most recent book of poetry, The Chemical Life (Véhicule Press), was shortlisted for the 2018 ReLit Award. Currently, Johnstone is Arc Poetry Magazine’s Poet-in-Residence.

This reading was recorded on September 9th, 2021 at our 3.44 virtual issue launch. Issue 3.44 (Summer, 2021) invites the reader to reposition themselves within both new and existing works of art and writing, prompting shifts in how we perceive and the worldview that flows from that perception.  Purchase the issue here.
