ReMatriate Collective

REMATRIATE COLLECTIVE (co-created in 2014) is a volunteer-led group of Indigenous womxn opposed to the appropriation of their cultural identities. Core members are located between the Yukon, British Columbia and Alberta working together collaboratively to represent their respective communities, with the aim of strengthening future generations through positive self-representation. They do this through the dissemination of public visual and text-based works and exhibitions, including an online photo campaign, and by offering hands-on workshops that include traditional practices and practical skill development. They organize resistance and educational events to raise awareness of critical Indigenous womxn’s issues.
