Gladys Maria Hindmarch
GLADYS MARIA HINDMARCH's collected works, Wanting Everything, came out the week that everything was shut down for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wanting was edited by Deanna Fong and Karis Shearer and contains a conversation with all three, plus three books and parts of her cancer account. Hindmarch was born in and schooled in Ladysmith, B.C. until she went to UBC at age seventeen. Within two years, she met George Bowering, Lionel Kearns, and Frank Davey, all of whom became friends for life. She is not a poet but her aesthetics are (in)formed by music and poetry and lively conversations.
