Caspar Blanchard was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and is part of the Selkirk First Nation. His debut book of poetry, Fresh Pack of Smokes (Nightwood, 2019), won the 2020 Relit Award. He resides in Duncan, Vancouver Island.
