Andrea Abi-Karam
Andrea Abi-Karam is an Arab-American genderqueer punk poet living in Oakland, California writing on the art of killing bros, the intricacies of cyborg bodies, trauma & delayed healing. With Drea Marina, they cohost Words of Resistance, a monthly radical queer open floor poetry night aimed at creating space for folks to share their work, especially if unpolished and messy. This poem is a response to Ana Mendieta's Covered in Time and Space exhibit at the BAMPFA in early 2017. The piece centers on a subject that struggles for visibility in the face of the structural, endless erasure of the Other and dissolving corporality.
