Join us on Friday, March 27 at Fazakas Gallery in Vancouver to celebrate the launch of our newest issue!

The evening will be hosted by Colin Browne and LaTiesha Fazakas, and will feature readings and presentations by Linnea Dick and Krystle Coughlin Silverfox, artwork by Corey Bulpitt, and live music by The Vipers.

About the Issue

Issue 3.40 (Winter 2020) brings together a special portfolio of celebrated Kwakwaka’wakw artist and activist Chief Beau Dick’s (1955-2017) Early Works, accompanied by interviews by Colin Browne with LaTiesha Fazakas, Alan Hunt, and Cole Speck alongside writing by Linnea Dick. Other highlights from the issue include writing by sophie anne edwards, Su-Yee Lin, Matsuki Masutani, Quelemia Sparrow, George Stanley, and Michelle Sylliboy; art by Morgan Asoyuf and Krystle Coughlin Silverfox; a conversation between Arts Editor Afuwa and artist Morgan Asoyuf on her Royal Portraits series; and reviews by Jessica Evans, Micaela Hart D’Emilio, and Dallas Hunt.

Accessibility

Fazakas Gallery is located at 688 East Hastings Street in Vancouver, on the 14, 16, and 20 bus routes. There is meter parking available along Hawkes Avenue (3-5 minute walk) and free street parking along Heatley Avenue and near MacLean Park (2-5 minute walk).

Wheelchair access: The event will be held in both the main gallery and downstairs gallery. The main gallery is accessible through the front door, and the downstairs gallery can be accessed through the alley. Staff will be onsite throughout the event to assist.

Washroom: Entrance is approximately 2.3 feet wide, and the open floorspace (excluding toilet and sink area) is approximately 2.5 x 3 feet.
